Kiss of Betrayal

Have A Wonderful & Blessed Day!!! Have You Betrayed The Lord!!!

Matthew 26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

Matthew 26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

Matthew 26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

Everyone reading this has had to deal with betrayal. Either you have been betrayed, or you have betrayed someone else. Probably, you have been in both situations. Maybe you were told something by a friend who asked you to keep it in confidence, and soon, it was over the whole school,workplace. Maybe you had an idea about how things could be done better at work, but the friend that you told it to used your idea. Or maybe the vow of complete faithfulness that you made to your spouse when you got married has not kept you from straying into territory where you did not belong. What does it feel like to be betrayed – to be abandoned? What does it feel like to have someone that you trusted suddenly turn on you? When we find out that someone has betrayed us, it makes us angry. It makes us feel vulnerable. Jesus knows what it feels like. It happened to Him. Jesus betrayal came through a kiss; Judas told the people wanting to arrest, take into custody, crucify. Jesus the man I kiss will be Jesus whom you want to take.

Betrayal comes at the hands of those who are the closest to us.

1. Judas Iscariot ate bread with Jesus that night, but that was not the 1st time. Judas had eaten bread with Jesus at Lazarus’ house and at Zachaeous’ house. They had enjoyed fish grilled over the fire on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. To eat bread – a meal – with someone was to indicate your closeness to that person. It showed your agreement with one another in lifestyle and beliefs. That’s why Jesus was criticized for eating with tax collectors and sinners and why Jews were forbidden to eat with Gentiles.
2. Judas was a highly trusted member of the group. That’s why he was allowed to carry the money bag.
An enemy can’t betray you. You expect an enemy to work against you. But you expect a friend to defend you, love you, and support you. When your expectations for these things are not met, then you are betrayed.
3. Jesus was aware of who the betrayer was. Why didn’t Jesus just single Judas out and tell exactly what his plan was? The rest of the disciples would have pounced on him and never allowed the sequence of events to happen.
4. Betrayal is in the heart of every person – yours and mine."The heart is desperately wicked. Who can know it?"

Judas, had experienced everything that the other disciples had experienced. He had been there to pass out food to the 5000 people that Jesus fed with a few fish and some bread. He had seen Lazarus raised back to life. He had seen Jesus heal the blind and the lame and the deaf. He had been a part of all that. And on the night of his betrayal, Jesus had washed his feet. He had shared the Passover meal with Jesus. Jesus had placed him in the most favored spot at the table – right next to Jesus. Judas had been a part of all the blessings that came along with being with Jesus. That night would have been a spiritual high point for anyone who was present there. And yet, Judas still chose to walk away into the night of his own sin.

5. Betrayal is not limited to those who have not experienced God’s presence.

Although Judas had been part of all these miracles he had still went ahead and betrayed Jesus.

Have you ever given the KISS of betrayal to Jesus or anyone in your life? Have you went to church on Sunday sang hymns of love, and that evening sat with the world and listened as they mocked our Lord used his name in vain? Even laughed at jokes mocking him, Heaven, and Hell? Have you betrayed Parent, spouse, Brethren, and then mocked as they sat broken hearted? Do you believe you are any better than Judas? You may be saved but your heart is just as wicked.

Our Jesus has went through the same and knows how it feels to be BETRAYED.

John 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

John 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

John 13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Psalm 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Psalm 41:10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Psalm 41:11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Psalm 41:12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

Psalm 41:13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Psalm 55:12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

Psalm 55:13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.

Psalm 55:14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

Joshua 9:22 And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?

Joshua 9:23 Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.

Psalm 89:32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Psalm 89:33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Love,

Cheryl

HOW GREAT THOU ART

O Lord my God! when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the works Thy hand hath made

I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees

When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur

And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze

And when I think that God His Son not sparing

Sent Him to die-I scarce can take it in

That on the cross my burden gladly bearing

He bled and died to take away my sin

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation

And take me home-what joy shall fill my heart!

Then shall I bow in humble adoration

And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

ONLY TRUST HIM

Come, every soul by sin oppressed;

There’s mercy with the Lord,

And He will surely give you rest

By trusting in His Word.

Only trust Him, only trust Him,

Only trust Him now;

He will save you, He will save you,

He will save you now.

For Jesus shed His precious blood

Rich blessings to bestow;

Plunge now into the crimson flood

That washes white as snow.

Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,

That leads you into rest;

Believe in Him without delay

And you are fully blessed.

Only trust Him, only trust Him,

Only trust Him now;

He will save you, He will save you,

He will save you now.
