Treasures for Eternity Not Here

Good Morning~~~Have A Wonderful Day~~~Accountable

We Will Give An Account; Some may not be aware but one day we will hAVE to give an account of what we did while here on earth, with the time the Lord gave us. If we had sixty years how many years did we really put into serving the Lord? Remember the rich man in Luke 16? he lived his whole life for himself no regard for the Lord he also made a couple other huge mistakes.

First, he invested everything for himself and in his life now, and nothing for the life to come, nothing for his eternal life. When we are blinded by our own desires and personal satisfaction,when we are so self-centered, and care nothing off the eternal life, and things of our Heavenly Father, it is easy to become lukewarm about spiritual matters. We forget that this life is not all there is. This life can end tomorrow, this life can end in an hour. Scripture tells us to store up treasures in heaven, not on earth. Where our treasure is reflects where our heart is. Like I have said many times before we can fool family, friends, the brethren, the Pastor, however we will NEVER fool the Lord and he is the one that counts.

The rich man’s other mistake was to prepare everything for himself and nothing for others. He cared for nobody but himself. Crumbs falling from his table were the only form of assistance he gave a poor man named Lazarus. The one who had much wealth did not share it with the one who had little. Jesus explained what our priorities should be to love the Lord wholeheartedly and to love our neighbor as ourselves. I am not saying he should have fed the sluggard who refused to work. However Lazarus was unable to work, when people truly need help we should be able to help. When we know of a need and we have the ability to help then thats what we need to do.

The Bible repeatedly warns us to pay attention to spiritual matters, the Lord is to have first place in our lives and be the center of our affections. We should be willing to give up earthly treasures and follow Jesus. If our material weatlh is more important than Jesus we are in trouble. Keep in mind we do not know when our soul will be called home, its far more important to be ready for eternity, than to be ready with our deposit slip at the bank. Material things will burn up like this earth will one day. The eternal things we do for the Lord will last for eternity. What is more important to you?

Luke 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

Luke 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

Luke 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Luke 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Luke 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

Luke 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Luke 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Luke 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Luke 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Luke 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

Luke 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Matthew 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Matthew 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

I SURRENDER ALL

All to Jesus, I surrender;

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all,

All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,

I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;

Humbly at His feet I bow,

Worldly pleasures all forsaken;

Take me, Jesus, take me now.

All to Jesus, I surrender;

Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;

Let me feel the Holy Spirit,

Truly know that Thou art mine.

All to Jesus, I surrender;

Lord, I give myself to Thee;

Fill me with Thy love and power;

Let Thy blessing fall on me.

All to Jesus I surrender;

Now I feel the sacred flame.

O the joy of full salvation!

Glory, glory, to His Name!

TAKE THE WORLD BUT GIVE ME JESUS

Take the world, but give me Jesus,

All its joys are but a name;

But His love abideth ever,

Through eternal years the same.

Oh, the height and depth of mercy!

Oh, the length and breadth of love!

Oh, the fullness of redemption,

Pledge of endless life above!

Take the world, but give me Jesus,

Sweetest comfort of my soul;

With my Savior watching o’er me,

I can sing though billows roll.

Take the world, but give me Jesus,

Let me view His constant smile;

Then throughout my pilgrim journey

Light will cheer me all the while.

Take the world, but give me Jesus;

In His cross my trust shall be,

Till, with clearer, brighter vision,

Face to face my Lord I see.

Good Morning!!!! Have A Wonderful Monday!!!! Prayer; The Best Weapon In A Crises Is PRAYER:  In God's word we see often during crises, times of war, fighting the men of God went to God in prayer first before getting a weapon, before passing out orders first was prayer. In Chronicles we see when the children of Moab, and Ammon came against Jehoshaphat, he set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimes a fast throughout all Judah.

Likewise, when we face hardship,a crises, difficult times, our best response is to cry out to our heavenly Father. As God's children, we can be certain that He loves us and cares about the details of our lives. He established a new covenant for those who place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who died in our place. He agreed to forgive our sins, adopt us into His family, and watch over us. This salvation does not depend upon our good actions our good works are but filthy rags, being good does not get us into heaven, it is only completed work of Jesus, who spilled his precious, perfect blood for our sins. If He was willing to die for us, why would he not hear us when we call unto him? Why would he not help us when in need? Of course if your not his Child, if your not trusting in his gift of salvation.

Jehoshaphat was ready for this crisis because he knew how important it is to seek the Heavenly Father in every situation. We his children need to go to our Father and seek his help, answers, and never say "its ok I can do this without you Father. If we want to be prepared for the unexpected, then we must discipline ourselves to seek God every day, acknowledging His Lordship and our dependence upon Him. Also keep in mind we need to be in communication with him in all times, good, bad, EVERYDAY!!!!

Our Lesson: We need to start examining our habits and thought life, we need to know whether our attention is on the Lord or other things. If we start our day thinking about Him instead of our own plans, and regularly read and apply scripture, then we need a heart that is pursuing Him daily, remember we are here to live for Him, to glorify him, to love him.

2Chronicles 19:3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

2Chronicles 20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

2Chronicles 20:2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.

2Chronicles 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

2Chronicles 20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

2Chronicles 20:5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

2Chronicles 20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

2Chronicles 20:7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

2Chronicles 20:8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

2Chronicles 20:9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore.

1Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

1Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

1Thessalonians 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.

1Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

1Thessalonians 5:25 Brethren, pray for us.

ALL FOR JESUS

I wonder have I done my best for Jesus,

Who died upon the cruel tree?

To think of His great sacrifice at Calvary!

I know my Lord expects the best from me.

How many are the lost that I have lifted?

How many are the chained I’ve helped to free?

I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,

When He has done so much for me?

The hours that I have wasted are so many

The hours I’ve spent for Christ so few;

Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,

I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

I wonder have I cared enough for others,

Or have I let them die alone?

I might have helped a wand’rer to the Saviour,

The seed of precious Life I might have sown.

No longer will I stay within the valley

I’ll climb to mountain heights above;

The world is dying now for want of someone

To tell them of the Saviour’s matchless love.

TEACH ME TO PRAY

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray;

This is my heart-cry day unto day;

I long to know Thy will and Thy way;

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray.

Living in Thee, Lord, and Thou in me,

Constant abiding, this is my plea;

Grant me Thy power, boundless and free,

Power with men and power with Thee.

Power in prayer, Lord, power in prayer!

Here ’mid earth’s sin and sorrow and care,

Men lost and dying, souls in despair;

O give me power, power in prayer!

My weakened will, Lord, Thou canst renew;

My sinful nature Thou canst subdue;

Fill me just now with power anew;

Power to pray and power to do!

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray;

Thou art my pattern day unto day;

Thou art my surety, now and for aye;

Teach me to pray, Lord, teach me to pray.

LAZINESS

Posted by Cheryl on September 15, 2014 at 8:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Good Morning~~~Have A Wonderful Monday~~~Laziness:

In the Book Of Proverbs, We See Much About Laziness; They are called sluggards, in some cases mistakenly call themselves wise (they are very wrong), and are on the path to poverty spiritual, and physical.

When people get into the sin habit of laziness, often time they have more excuses than they do energy. "I was too tired" "I ran out of Time" "was waiting for an important phone call" "I don't believe the Lord called me to do that" "waiting for the Lord to tell me what to do" "I thought they had enough going already they didn't need anymore" do any of these sound familar? They will avoid doing something they don’t like, even if it is their responsibility, and instead do only what pleases them. Sadly, individuals who act this way have trouble seeing clearly what they are doing wrong, will avoid all people that may bring it to their attention, and they find criticism unfair. What they seem to forget even if no one here says a word the Lord God, sees and hears, and knows everything, so how will we avoid him? Though such men and women might think that their self-centeredness slips by unnoticed, it is usually evident to others.

People may fool themselves, may fool others, family, the brethren, the Pastor, but God, who sees poor attitudes, good attitudes, and careless ways, wise ways, is not pleased by poor, and lazy efforts. He has work for us to do and expects it to be handled conscientiously. The Lord knows that the consequences of laziness are serious: at work, and if at work people know your a Christian why would they want to be one? Also there is the possibility of frequent criticism, probation, or even termination; at home, can cause tension, hard feelings, bad examples in the home, and lost family members, lost neighbors see it and say "Wow is this what Christians live like I treat my family and stuff better than that. I talk better to my family" so please know our laziness and excuses are being noted, and the excuses are not pleasing our Heavenly Father.

Our Lesson: If you are already a disciplined worker but must interact with people who are not, continue to please the Lord with your productiveness. In addition, pray for those you know who are not and be an example of Christ to those around you.

Proverbs 6:9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Proverbs 6:10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

Proverbs 6:11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 6:12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

Proverbs 26:13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

Proverbs 26:14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

Proverbs 26:15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

Proverbs 26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

2Thessalonians 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

2Thessalonians 3:12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

2Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

1Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Love,

Cheryl

Into the battle for truth.

Dauntless was He, young and brave;

Give Him your loyal devotion;

Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master;

Give of the strength of your youth;

Clad in salvation’s full armor,

Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;

Give Him first place in your heart;

Give Him first place in your service;

Consecrate every part.

Give, and to you will be given;

God His beloved Son gave;

Gratefully seeking to serve Him,

Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master;

Naught else is worthy His love;

He gave Himself for your ransom,

Gave up His glory above.

Laid down His life without murmur,

You from sin’s ruin to save;

Give Him your heart’s adoration;

Give Him the best that you have.

Give of your best to the Master;

Give of the strength of your youth;

Clad in salvation’s full armor,

RISE UP O MEN OF GOD

Rise up, O men of God!

Have done with lesser things.

Give heart and mind and soul and strength

To serve the King of kings.

Rise up, O men of God!

The kingdom tarries long.

Bring in the day of brotherhood

And end the night of wrong.

Rise up, O men of God!

The church for you doth wait,

Her strength unequal to her task;

Rise up and make her great!

Lift high the cross of Christ!

Tread where His feet have trod.

As brothers of the Son of Man,

Rise up, O men of God!

PROMISE & PRAYER

Posted by Cheryl on September 14, 2014 at 1:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Good Morning!!!! Have A Wonderful Sunday!!! A Promise & Prayer:

A Precious Promise

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is one of my favorite sections it reminds me that once we are saved, nothing can remove us from our Lord. Once we are in the Family of God, we are there to stay. Our God is bigger than anything or anyone else. Amen!!!

A PRECIOUS PRAYER

Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

This was Jesus when he was on the cross just as he was about to die prayed unto the Father. If Jesus prayed unto the Father doesn't that tell us that tell us that just how much more important it is for us to be in prayer daily. Jesus prayed often while here on earth.

STANDING ON THE PROMISES

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,

Through eternal ages let His praises ring,

Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,

Standing, standing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I now can see

Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

PROMISE AND PRAYER

Good Morning~~~Have A Beautiful Saturday~~~A Promise & A Prayer

A PRECIOUS PROMISE

Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

This promise should all make us fear less. How often do us Born-Again Children of God the Mighty God, the Creator, the Only True God, he who can do ANYTHING panic when something big happens? Here is another place he is promising to be there

where we are. He never leaves us or forsakes us yet we question he who NEVER lies, or lets us down. I think because we let him down so often we get us mixed up with him.

Although we also forget he is there when we think we are fooling everybody including him when we are in sin and nobody sees us. Well the Lord does see us he sees everything. When we fear remember our Father God, our Father in Heaven is with us everywhere. He will never leave us. He is wonderful!!!!!!

A PRECIOUS PRAYER

Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Philippians 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

Philippians 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Paul is praying for the believers at Philippi that they will abound in love for Christ, and in knowledge. That they will be sincere and filled with fruits of righteousness, and in thanksgiving. We need to be thankful to have the word of God to have all this knowledge at our fingertips, to know what to do, what not to do. To know how to Please our Loving Father in Heaven. We need to thank Him daily.

I AM BOUND FOR THE PROMISED LAND

On Jordan's stormy banks I stand

And cast a wishful eye

To Canaan's fair and happy land

Where my possessions lie

I am bound for the Promised Land

I am bound for the Promised Land

Oh who will come and go with me?

I am bound for the Promised Land

Over all those wide extended plains

Shines one eternal day

There God the Son forever reigns

And scatters night away

I am bound for the Promised Land

I am bound for the Promised Land

Oh who will come and go with me?

I am bound for the Promised Land

When I shall reach that happy place

And be forever blessed

When I shall see my Father's face

And in his bosom rest

I am bound for the Promised Land

I am bound for the Promised Land

Oh who will come and go with me?

I am bound for the Promised Land

HE HIDETH MY SOUL

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,

A wonderful Savior to me;

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,

Where rivers of pleasure I see.

He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock

That shadows a dry, thirsty land;

He hideth my life with the depths of His love,

And covers me there with His hand,

And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,

He taketh my burden away;

He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved,

He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns,

And filled with His fullness divine,

I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God

For such a Redeemer as mine!

When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise

To meet Him in clouds of the sky,

His perfect salvation, His wonderful love

I’ll shout with the millions on high.

The Golden Rule

Good Morning!!! Have A Wonderful Day!!! Others

I need to correct my self before I start the devotional. I believe I worded something wrong yesterday. "I believe this may be why the Lord uses the Eagle to describe a relationship with him." The Lord isn't saying we are as the eagles he is saying to be as the eagles. Sorry if I caused confusion or misguided the word of God.

________________________________________________________

The Fruits of the Spirit; Most of us have known the "Golden Rule" since childhood: we need to treat others the way we want to be treated. And for young children, this standard seems to make sense. It is logical to share if you want others to share with you, and to avoid hitting because you wouldn't like being on the receiving end. In every home (well back a long time ago) Children were told taught the fruits of the spirit and some never realized it was Biblical.

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness self-control" when people my age think about this it is bitter-sweet because even in school Public-School we were taught this. Some even worked at following these rules.

But as life continues and relationships become more complicated, this simple ethical code doesn't always seem to fit our circumstances.Now we are in a society that is about self, and if self is wronged we can be unforgiving and anything but loving. For instance, imagine being wronged by your business partner. How can you treat him respectfully when he has taken advantage? What if a kind, forgiving attitude opens the door for you to be hurt again? How can we be patient when the person driving in front of us is trying to make us late for our appointment. How can I have self-control when my neighbors child just rode his bike across my front lawn, and the three-year old picked my tulips from my garden. Also I love you I want to love.

However, obedience can be challenging, because when we are hurt or mistreated, our instinct is to retaliate. This might take the form of speaking badly behind a person's back or showing subtle disrespect to his face. Human nature wants revenge for wrong. In fact, we are unable to do anything different on our own.

Thankfully, as believers, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who enables us to forgive. So while our own strength is insufficient for a godly response, through the Spirit, we have the option to obey.

Next time forgiving is difficult, loving is impossible, kindness is not going to happen; think very carefully of what Jesus did and did willingly for you, me, and this whole world. He came here to this sin cursed world, having no sin himself, perfect in every way, no unrighteousness, not thinking of himself, walked this sin-cursed earth, healing, teaching, comforting, taken by the guards, beaten, beard plucked out, spit upon, mocked, rejected, nailed to the cross for you, me, the world. Carried our disgusting sins into the pits of hell. So why is it you cant forgive? Why is it you cant be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, have goodness, faith, be gentle, and have self-control? Just asking........

Matthew 22:22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Matthew 22:23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

Matthew 22:24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

Matthew 22:25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

Matthew 22:26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

Matthew 22:27 And last of all the woman died also.

Matthew 22:28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Matthew 22:31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

Matthew 22:33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

Matthew 22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Galations 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Galations 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galations 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Galations 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Galations 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galations 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Galations 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galations 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Galations 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galations 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Love,

Cheryl

LOVE DIVINE

Love divine, all loves excelling,

Joy of heaven to earth come down;

Fix in us thy humble dwelling;

All thy faithful mercies crown!

Jesus, Thou art all compassion,

Pure unbounded love Thou art;

Visit us with Thy salvation;

Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit,

Into every troubled breast!

Let us all in Thee inherit;

Let us find that second rest.

Take away our bent to sinning;

Alpha and Omega be;

End of faith, as its Beginning,

Set our hearts at liberty.

Come, Almighty to deliver,

Let us all Thy life receive;

Suddenly return and never,

Never more Thy temples leave.

Thee we would be always blessing,

Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,

Pray and praise Thee without ceasing,

Glory in Thy perfect love.

Finish, then, Thy new creation;

Pure and spotless let us be.

Let us see Thy great salvation

Perfectly restored in Thee;

Changed from glory into glory,

Till in heaven we take our place,

Till we cast our crowns before Thee,

Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

FILL ALL MY VISION

Fill all my vision, Saviour, I pray,

Let me see only Jesus today;

Though thro' the valley Thou leadest me,

Thy fadeless glory encompasseth me.

Fill all my vision, Saviour divine,

Till with Thy glory my spirit shall shine.

Fill all my vision, that all may see

Thy holy Image reflected in me.

Fill all my vision, every desire

Keep for Thy glory; my soul inspire

With Thy perfection, Thy holy love flooding

My pathway with light from above.

Fill all my vision, Saviour divine,

Till with Thy glory my spirit shall shine.

Fill all my vision, that all may see

Thy holy Image reflected in me.

Fill all my vision, let naught of sin

Shadow the brightness shining within.

Let me see only Thy blessed face

Feasting my soul on Thy infinite grace.

Fill all my vision, Saviour divine,

Till with Thy glory my spirit shall shine.

Fill all my vision, that all may see

Thy holy Image reflected in me.

TRUST THE LORD

Good Morning!!! Have A Wonderful Day!!! Eagles; Eagles Depend Wholly Upon Air Currents:  After realizing the Eagle which opens its wings and soars is dependent on the air currents to keep it skyward. I believe this may be why the Lord uses the Eagle to describe a relationship with him.

Contary to the Eagles, we often beat our wings trying to be better Christians. We resolve to read the Bible more or to improve at keeping our temper. We try to escape old habits and temptations. But instead of flying to the mountaintops, we remain on the valley floor with tired wings.Often times giving up, and feeling hopeless. This is because believers sometimes get confused about what a spiritually mature person looks like. We convince ourselves we can do this on our own. We watch other believers and believe they got to godliness all by their self. Without depending on the Lord we will never get anywhere. We must not try to get ahead without the Lord. We must not be so prideful that we send the Lord away and say "no thanks Lord I got this" if we are so prideful and foolish to do this then we really deserve some tribulation.

Spiritual maturity means recognizing that we do not change ourselves. Flesh is corrupt, and its vices cannot be stopped by any human means. But our omnipotent Father subdues believers’ human impulses through His Spirit. For example, God’s indwelling Spirit calms anger, gives us strength to not fall into temptation that comes to us daily, will give us an out on all we need not to have in our life. While others tire from trying to be good, the mature believer relies upon God and will “mount up with wings like eagles” We need to put pride far away and allow out selves to say "Lord help me a sinner, I can't do this on my own" my corrupt flesh stops me all the way.

Isaiah reminds us that even young, strong, healthy, men stumble and grow weak. Anyone trying to change himself into a model Christian will burn out beating his wings against the world system and his own flesh. God didn’t make these human bodies, minds, or spirits to fly solo. He created us to soar on His strength. What we need to do is stop the "I can" "I will" "I am able" I I I I I I I and Say "with the Lord I " we are in this corrupted flesh no matter how much we try we can't without the Lord. Put away the sin of Pride and ask the Lord to help.

Our Lesson: Do you know what took down Satan? It wasn't strong drink, not adultery, not pornography, not stealing, it was PRIDE!!!!! Do you have the same sin problem Satan has????

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalm 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Psalm 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Psalm 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

Psalm 107:8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalm 107:9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psalm 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

FOLLOW ON

Down in the valley with my Savior I would go,

Where the flowers are blooming and the sweet waters flow;

Everywhere He leads me I would follow, follow on,

Walking in His footsteps till the crown be won.

Follow! follow! I would follow Jesus!

Anywhere, everywhere, I would follow on!

Follow! follow! I would follow Jesus!

Everywhere He leads me I would follow on!

Down in the valley with my Savior I would go,

Where the storms are sweeping and the dark waters flow;

With His hand to lead me I will never, never fear,

Danger cannot fright me if my Lord is near.

Down in the valley, or upon the mountain steep,

Close beside my Savior would my soul ever keep;

He will lead me safely in the path that He has trod,

Up to where they gather on the hills of God.

Follow! follow! I would follow Jesus!

Anywhere, everywhere, I would follow on!

Follow! follow! I would follow Jesus!

Everywhere He leads me I would follow on!

WHERE HE LEADS ME

I can hear my Savior calling,

I can hear my Savior calling,

I can hear my Savior calling,

“Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.”

Where He leads me I will follow,

Where He leads me I will follow,

Where He leads me I will follow;

I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the garden,

I’ll go with Him through the garden,

I’ll go with Him through the garden,

I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

I’ll go with Him through the judgment,

I’ll go with Him through the judgment,

I’ll go with Him through the judgment,

I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

He will give me grace and glory,

He will give me grace and glory,

He will give me grace and glory,

And go with me, with me all the way.

ANGER

Posted by Cheryl on September 9, 2014 at 7:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Good Morning~~~Have A Wonderful Tuesday~~~Anger

Two Types of Anger; Anger is a common emotion that arises when one encounters a threat, insult, injustice, or frustration. However, because of our fallen nature, we often respond in a sinful manner when this intense feeling overwhelms us. There is a righteous anger and a sinful anger.When we see people defaming the name of our Lord, false teaching of God's word, murdering and harming of the young and helpless, or old, weak, and frail these types of things should anger us. When our world is so quickly changing the laws of the Lord, gay marriage, the sex of babies in which they were born, people able to work who choose not to and the government tells us to support them.

The unrighteous anger is when we have to wait an extra five minutes for the Happy Meal, when the car in front of us doesn't immediatly floor it when the light turns green, when our Kuerg takes an extra two seconds, when the guy is going too slow in the left lane, when the older lady is counting out pennies in front of us at Wegmans. Our fast paced world has truly spoiled us and made us extremely impatient, and in some cases ruined our character. Maybe someone even looked at you wrong, or said the wrong thing.

One sinful response is to hold onto anger until it becomes part of our character. It takes up residence in the innermost being and starts to twist thinking and agitate emotions. Peace and joy are noticeably absent because they cannot exist with the anxiety and frustration that accompany bitterness.

After poisoning the character, an angry spirit spills over into other relationships. Hurtful words are thrown like flaming arrows, even at those who aren't the cause of the rage. Shields of self-protection are raised in an effort to avoid any future hurts. Unfortunately, the result of these behaviors is stressed relationships and isolation.

While anger can damage our character and relationships with others, its most tragic consequence is broken fellowship with our Lord. Wrath not only hinders His work in and through believers; it also grieves the Father's heart. He desires to shower His children with blessings, but hearts full of anger cannot receive His riches of character and calling.

If your dealing with unrepented anger, bitterness call upon the Lord ask for help in ridding your heart and mind of it today. In many cases people may have truly hurt you, but is it worth your relationship with the Lord, your relationship with others? Remember we have to answer for ourself on all we do here and bitterness is one of those things get rid of it here before you get there.

TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.

Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.

Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.

Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

ONLY ONE LIFE

It matters so little

How much you may own

The places you've been

Or people that you k

For it all comes to nothing

When placed at His feet

It's nothing to Jesus

Just memories to me

You can take all the treasures

From far away lands

And take all the riches

you can hold in your hands

And take all the pleasures

Your riches can buy

But will it help

When it's your time to die

Only one life

So soon it will pass

Only what's done for Christ will last

Only one chance to do His will

So give to Jesus all you days

It's the only life that pays

When you recall

You have but one life

The days pass so swiftly

The months come and go

The years melt away

Like new falling s

Spring turns to summer

Then summer to fall

Autumn brings winter

Then death come to all

Only one life

So soon it will pass

Only what's done for Christ will last

Only one chance to do His will

So give to Jesus all you days

It's the only life that pays

When you recall

You have but one life

SOLDIERS

Posted by Cheryl on September 8, 2014 at 7:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Good Moring~~~Have A Good Day~~~Preparation; If You're Born-Again, You're In A Battle:  We are at war with the spiritual things, our flesh, and the world so we need to be prepared. The Lord would have us to be ready at all times. We need to not get lazy, and blind to the attacks that can come out of nowhere at anytime. These attacks can happen at anytime, when we least expect them. We need to understand our mission and be on it all times even them days when we just don't feel like it.

What the weakened soldier/christian lacks is adequate preparation for the battle. One cannot stand unarmed before an enemy bent upon destruction. Yet in our hands, we carry our whole arsenal the Bible. Everything God's soldiers/Children should know is in His Book. But we must read, study, and think about His principles in order to wield our weapons correctly. If we are truly going to serve him we truly need to do it correctly and not have heartily. Husbands if your watching a ball game and your wife says there is a man in the yard with a mask, you sit staring at the television and say after this play I will take a look, how safe does she feel. How does the Lord feel about our walks when during prayer time we get up answer our phone? During Bible study we send a few texts? During Pastors sermon on sunday we are thinking "What should we do for lunch today? We need to either get on board with the Lord get ready for battle or just stay in the world doing our own thing.

The Christians first priority is to know the truth, and be ready at all times with a answer. To study God's word, to know what it says, to be able to teach, to lead the lost to Jesus.The goal is to reach the end of the battle with our testimony still in tact, to be able to hear well done faithful servant.

Never underestimate the Enemy, no matter how many TV pastors you have seen throw satan out of the picture, bind him up, none of us are able to do that, and it is not wise to try to do that. You can't avoid spiritual warfare, it is all around us,it can invade our church, our home, and even our body and mind. Study the Bible so you can put on truth and wisdom to defend yourself. Then you can complete your mission and face your commander Jesus Christ in victory!

Don't put your guard down.

Today give out a tract or two, study a couple verses, read a chapter or two, PRAY if you can't think of anything to pray for I have lots to pray for, the missionaries, a Beautiful young lady Teri who suffers with serious medical issues, my son Charlie and his Pastor going on a missions trip, two men Tom, and Paul needing salvation,Lost family members, the hurting and they are everywhere.

Our Lesson: We don't have to look far for prayer needs.

2Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

2Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

2Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

2Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

2Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Ephesians 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus going on before.

Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;

Forward into battle see His banners go!

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus going on before.

At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;

On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!

Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;

Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Like a mighty army moves the church of God;

Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.

We are not divided, all one body we,

One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

What the saints established that I hold for true.

What the saints believèd, that I believe too.

Long as earth endureth, men the faith will hold,

Kingdoms, nations, empires, in destruction rolled.

Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,

But the church of Jesus constant will remain.

Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;

We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,

Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.

Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King,

This through countless ages men and angels sing.

LEAD ME SAVIOR

Savior, lead me, lest I stray,

Gently lead me all the way;

I am safe when by Thy side,

I would in Thy love abide.

Lead me, lead me, Savior, lead me lest I stray;

Gently down the stream of time,

Lead me, Savior, all the way.

Thou the refuge of my soul

When life’s stormy billows roll;

I am safe when Thou art nigh,

All my hopes on Thee rely.

Savior, lead me, then at last,

When the storm of life is past,

To the land of endless day,

Where all tears are wiped away.

PROMISE & PRAYER

Posted by Cheryl on September 7, 2014 at 8:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Good Morning~~~Have A Wonderful Sunday~~~A Promise & Prayer

A PRECIOUS PROMISE

1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

We read here in this promise from 1Corinthians the Lord promises he will not let us be tempted beyond our ability to control. He also promises us a way to escape. So when we say "I couldn't help myself" we are lying. Often times we have to make it happen for two reasons, the Lord makes a way to escape, and we can see a way out, we are choosing to fall into the sin we are being tempted by. Please before choosing that sin over the Lord think is that sin more important than your testimony, and even more important is it more important than the Lord?

A PRECIOUS PRAYER

Jeremiah 14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.

Jeremiah 14:21 Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

Jeremiah 14:22 Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.

We see in scripture Jeremiah praying for help for Judah. As we see Prayer has always been a very important thing, and yet so often forgotten so often. We also need to remember Prayer needs to be done daily not just when we are up against the wall and a last resort. We need to talk to the Father Daily, not just a nightly prayer. Lets take a look at our prayer life!!!!!

P R A Y E R    R E Q U E S T S !!!!!!!!!

They are serving our Lord twenty four/seven No vacation time, no get away for a few days, “call the Pastor having a rough day” we are so spoiled here and take so much for granted.

A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;

Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:

For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;

His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,

On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;

Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing:

Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;

Lord Sabaoth, His name, from age to age the same,

And He must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,

We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:

The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;

His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,

One little word shall fell him.

That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;

The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him who with us sideth:

Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;

The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,

His kingdom is forever.

LOYALTY TO CHRIST

From over hill and plain there comes the signal strain,

’Tis loyalty, loyalty, loyalty to Christ;

Its music rolls along, the hills take up the song,

Of loyalty, loyalty, yes, loyalty to Christ.

“On to victory! On to victory!”

Cries our great Commander, “On!”

We’ll move at His command,

We’ll soon possess the land,

Through loyalty, loyalty,

Yes, loyalty to Christ.

O hear, ye brave, the sound that moves the earth around,

’Tis loyalty, loyalty, loyalty to Christ;

Arise to dare and do, ring out the watchword true,

Of loyalty, loyalty, yes, loyalty to Christ.

Come, join our loyal throng, we’ll rout the giant wrong,

’Tis loyalty, loyalty, loyalty to Christ;

Where Satan’s banners float we’ll send the bugle note,

Of loyalty, loyalty, yes, loyalty to Christ.

The strength of youth we lay at Jesus’ feet today,

’Tis loyalty, loyalty, loyalty to Christ;

His Gospel we’ll proclaim, throughout the world’s domain,

Of loyalty, loyalty, yes, loyalty to Christ.
